Wednesday Wine Club

About

Wednesday Wine Club is the name adopted by five friends to describe their weekly girls’ night, where they catch up on the events of the week, gossip about their husbands and, of course, drink wine. Every Wednesday, while relaxing and socializing, they partake in a whimsical game of “What If…” One week, the hypothetical game turns sinister, posed with the question of how they would rid themselves of their husbands if they could. As the weeks pass, one husband mysteriously passes – in the exact manner his wife described. As she is investigated for murder, all five ladies begin to question the validity their relationship. After a second husband is attacked, in a manner feasibly similar to his wife’s description, the ladies suspect the occurrences are not purely coincidental, but some maniacal plot to fashion reality from fantasy. Living in regret of their hastily-verbalized desires and in fear of who will be the next victim, they must put an end to the game they started – but who is orchestrating the foul play? Is there a killer among them, and can they uncover the truth before their friendship is completely obliterated?

Praise for this book

While a first effort, the author manages to pull off a narrative worthy of a seasoned writer. The story line draws you in and the characters seem real enough to share a glass with. You might not like them always, but you feel as if you know them. The revealing of the whodunnit didn't take me by complete surprise, but getting there was a satisfying trip.

I don't normally award five-star ratings, but it's rare anymore that I find myself eager to dive back into a book after I'm forced to set it aside for a few hours.

I'll stop gushing, but only because I want to give you time to see for yourself. Now go read it!
